With credits in film, television, web video and radio, her true passion is connecting people within this ‘community of fearless creation.’ Devoted to her craft, her personality, charm and enthusiasm is contagious. Her on-camera presence lures audiences in. This down to earth aura comes from her ability to draw interviewees out by engaging them in genuine conversation.
Her TV credits include 12 segments on “Natural Beauty Tips” for LookTV, a series she produced herself, and an on-going role as a host of a popular online series, a role in which she’s enjoyed interviewing many top-name hip hop celebrities.
Now entering its third year, Jaimi continues to hosts her own monthly radio show. Dubbed “In The Spotlight With Jaimi Alexander,” on Your15Minutes Radio Network, the show focuses on entertainment and lifestyle audiences. During her tenure, she’s interviewed successful entrepreneurs from across the country, including Tiffany Krumins (Shark Tank winner and creator of “Ava The Elephant”), York Shackleton (former X games champ gone film director), actress Rosie Perez, April Parker Jones (from Tyler Perry’s “If Loving You Is Wrong”), and Sheldon Candis (writer and Producer of the film “Luv,” starring Common.)
She’s hosted many red carpet events for award shows including the Diversity Awards and the Soul Train Awards. She continues to host events in Los Angeles and New York City, two of Jaimi’s favorite hot spots.
Her entertainment credits also include four commercials for PayPal’s “Bill Me Later” campaign.
Jaimi thrives in an environment of on the spot interviews, a skill she attributes to her ability to easily strike up a conversation with people. Of course, it helps that she’s plugged into the topics she’s covering.
“I consider myself fortunate in many ways,” said Jaimi. “I eat, sleep and breathe the industries I cover on camera. For me, this isn’t work — this is talking about what I love with people who are excited to hear the stories from someone who isn’t asking canned questions. For me, it’s always a dialog between people. Celebrity-status aside, most people want to tell their story in their own words. It’s my job to get them comfortable enough to do that. Challenge….ACCEPTED!”
